Rip Curl Clothing

Rip Curl was founded in 1969 by Doug "Claw" Warbrick and Brian "Sing Ding" Singer in Torquay, Victoria. Rip Curl Wetsuits was established to provide an alternative brand for short-board surfing. Warbrick and Singer started producing the boards in Singer's garage. The pair started off by making four boards a week.Lots of resources are used to get this company to where it stands. Land resources are used for the materials of the products and land is used for the space of the factories and outlets. Labour resources are required because Rip Curl employs workers in their factories and stores. Capital resources used at Rip Curl Clothing would be things like fins for the surfboards, rubber for the wetsuits and tools required for making the products. Doug Warbrick and Brian Singer are the entrepreneurs of the business as they ran the company to start with.Rip Curl Boardshorts has always had competition with other surf brands as to who has the best boards and products. Rip Curl Clothing manufactures lots of products so they have to compete with all the different industries. They compete with companies like quicksilver, billabong and rusty for surf gear but would also have to compete with other companies who make things like watches and other apparel.Rip Curl Clothing is now well known around the world with nine corporate Licensees that make and sell Rip Curl products in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Israel, Indonesia, Mauritius, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa and the USA. Surfers in even the most remote corners of the planet can be seen using and abusing Rip Curl products. Rip Curl boasts over 170 employees in Australia. Rip Curl sponsors numerous surfing competitions like the Rip Curl Pro. The competition raised the profile of the brand enormously Australia-wide. This competition also promotes the company heavily as they can advertise around the beach. In the future I think Rip Curl will still be popular as surfing is still very popular because it is suited to all ages. In the future I think Rip Curl Boardshorts will branch into more countries and become better known. Rip Curl Clothing may also look into new materials for wetsuits and surfboards and may also start to manufacture new products.Visit Ripcurl.com
